The New Flexible Material for the FabPro 1000: Elastic BLK
Posted by Grant Cameron on
The FabPro 1000 - 3D System’s high-quality, affordable entry level printer - is now even more versatile, thanks to a new flexible material: FabPro Elastic BLK.
It is a black elastomeric thermoplastic, suitable for prototyping and designing a wide variety of elastomeric parts.
Combined with the FabPro 1000’s productivity and part quality, this material accelerates the design and iteration of new concepts with rubber-like prototypes for industrial and consumer goods applications.
What types of part is suited for?
It boasts excellent compressive characteristics, making it ideal for vibration dampening components and other compressive applications, such as:
- overmolds,
- weather stripping,
- seals,
- grommets,
- gaskets, and
- spacers.
I already have a FabPro – Can I use Elastic BLK?
Absolutely! For existing FabPro users, it simple to get started with Elastic BLK.
All you need to do is upgrade your 3DSprint software to the latest version. As soon as that’s done, you’re ready to load up Elastic BLK and get printing flexible parts.
I don’t have a FabPro, but I’m interested in learning more
